Mediating Space – Cartographies of Madrid and Talinn

Urbiquity

10 Nov 2017 to 15 Nov 2017

The exhibition will show the work of a selected number of visual artists who attended two Urbiquity Urban Labs that have been organised for 2017. The UUL is a week-long visual urbanism residency that took place in Madrid in June and Tallinn in September.
The 2017 Urban Labs takes a multi-disciplinary approach to its central theme - Cartographies

The primary objective of the Urban Lab Residencies is to create experiences where urbanists from around the world can learn from and add to the local urban discourse of three distinct cities. By learning about the specific urban struggles facing the city that derive from their specific geopolitical context, the participants  create new projects around the theme ‘Cartographies’.

About the Artists:

Urbiquity is a platform for creative and critical urbanism.
Using visual methods alongside text and materiality, Urbiquity aims to investigate sociality in the built environment and generate new knowledge of the ways we inhabit increasingly multilayered, contextual and connected global localities.
The collective is based in London, Madrid and Tallinn, but operates internationally. Urbiquity was founded by Stefano Carnelli, Pablo Conejo and Mattias Malk.
